Rissaga is the name of the new young organization in Menorca (Balearic Islands) with the cultural and creative enrichment of the island as its main goal.
The project consists of the proposal of this organization, its management, interest areas and cultural program. The design includes the visual identity developed through a series of communication supports and the wayfinding of the space where it would carry out its activity.
*developed as final degree project at EINA
Rissaga refers to a meteorological phenomenon that occurs in some areas of the Mediterranean, especially in Menorca, which causes the sea level to rise and fall suddenly in a very short time (minutes or even seconds).
The visual identity is based on representing the strength and movement of this phenomenon through typography. Akkordeon and its fourteen styles were chosen to do this job. Increasing and decreasing, occupying space with strength, power and vigor, as the youth in Menorca would do.
Colors play an important part in giving the visual communication a sense of diversity and energy, as well as differentiating the areas covered by the association.
Rissaga would have a physical place to organize events and to have a place of reference for the community, a safe space for meeting, enrichment and debate. It is ambitious and complete, to facilitate projects and action.
The building chosen for the project is found in the center of Maó, the island's capital city, and it would be equipped with an open space for exhibitions and general events, a music studio, computer room, library, meeting room, community kitchen and café and a graphic arts workshop.
For the environmental design, each floor was assigned it's own Akkordeon style, going from narrow to wide.
